DSMZ is not only Europe's most comprehensive biological resource center, but also a state-of-the-art research institute. More than 100 scientists, PhDs and postdoctoral fellows make us an active research collection. Research at DSMZ is interdisciplinary, with our scientists collaborating with in-house colleagues from other departments as well as external scientists from academia and industry.

The DSMZ currently houses more than 86,500 biosources, many of which are available through our online catalogs.

Microorganisms

The DSMZ microbial open collections contain more than 31,000 biological resources, representing about 80% of known microbial diversity.

Human and Animal Cell Lines

The open collection of DSMZ cell lines currently includes more than 930 different immortalized cell cultures of primate, rodent, amphibian, fish and insect origin isolated from numerous tissues as well as numerous hybridomas.

DSMZ offers you the best solution for the routine detection of the most important plant viruses in agricultural and horticultural crops. an ever-growing collection of plant virus isolates and high quality serological reagents range and corresponding positive controls.
